Pandan Island & Apo Reef Tour Plan

April 24, 2007

Here's another travel adventure of mine.

I am planning to go to Sablayan, Mindoro Occidental. The destination there
is the Pandan Island and the Apo Reef. I have been wanting to go there
since year 2000. When I learned Coron during those years, I didn't choose
the Pandan Island or the Sablayan trip. I can already see by this time that
it will be a long trip. I have tried driving for 10 hours, and believe me
it's boring and tiring. Maybe tiring only but not really boring, for one
can see a new spectacular place. But I know it will be one heck of a
travel. At this early point of planning, I am anticipating that after I see
the place, my joy would be replaced by tireness during the long travel back
home.

I was in Coron just almost last month. But when I heard or learned from
PLPClub Yahoo Group that they are planning to go to Pandan Island, I
decided that I will join them. So I immediately informed them that I will
join, but unfortunately they had to turn me down because they have reached
their quota. So I was disappointed and had this dilema. And that's the
point in time I did some research. So this is only a 2 weeks preparation. I
am doing this because I still have surplus budget from my Coron travel
(what a budgetarian I really am! hehe!) and I long longed to go to this
place. And now knowing that there are possibility I can share a boat tour
on those dates is the best time to go. Considering also that May 1 falls on
a tuesday, this will be a long weekend.

Here's where I am going:

My travel plan here is quite simple. 1) Go to Batangas Pier, 2) Ride a
ferry going to Abra de Ilog, 3) Then go to Sablayan town, 4) Find a cheap
place to stay, 5) Organize my own tour there, 6) I can have up to 2 tour
only - Pandan I. and Apo Reef, 7) Go back home.

Since the travel will take 10-12 hours, I am anticipating that I may need
to stop over somewhere to rest, at the same time explore. And the place I
can see is Abra De Ilog or Mamburao. Anyway let's see… funny, in this
planning stage, I always ask question about contact numbers, room rates, and
other information at the message board. But I usually end up answering my
own question because I already found the answer through internet and some
other contact persons…. Anyway, let's wait and see what's in store in
this Sablayan Trip.

Until next posting!
